Sécuriser la périphérie de l’UE : mission impossible?”

The President was invited to participate at the 5th annual Geopolitical Festival at ESC Grenoble on April 4, 2013.  She chose to speak about the importance of the security on the periphery of the EU, following her work on Georgia and Ukraine and following her recent participation in a FP7 bid on Democracy and Security in the Caucasus.  Her presentation is broken down into three parts : Security, Governance and Energy.

Contribute to the Fall issue of our scientific review

In September, the Observatory will be proposing a bi-annual scientific review proposing research and analysis regarding the principal geostrategic maritime issues of the Black, Gulf and Mediterranean Seas.

Should you wish to contribute to the publication, please send a short biography and your article of 35.000 signes to president@obgms.org.  The deadline for receiving articles for the Fall issue will be July 1st.

Ukraine’s judiciary reforms

This morning, the Ukrainian Ambassador in France,  S.E. Oleksandr Kupchyshyn, received a small group of people at the Ukrainian embassy, where the Deputy Justice Minister, Inna Yemelyanova  spoke of the reform of the judicial systema dn the status of judges; and the Deputy Attorney General, Renat Kuzmin spoke of the reforms to the penal code in 2012, which had existed since 1961 when Ukraine was a Soviet republic under Premier Krustchev.
